We conducted a 2-day Capacity strengthening for young women on global and regional climate processes. The workshop gathered female journalists from Abuja, Nasarawa, Benue and Niger State. The capacity of the participants was strengthened in reporting climate change with a gender lens.
The training provided the journalists with the requisite knowledge on how to report women and girls’ issues relating to climate crises. Also, it highlighted solutions on how to adapt to the changes as they occur in their communities” and to spread narratives and amplify the voices of women and girls.
We recognize that journalists can be a force for good amid these challenges and can contribute to sourcing, reporting and writing stories that include an equity lens which promotes climate justice.
