Today, we celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child-themed “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-Being.

It is a day dedicated to raising awareness of the uniqueness of the girl child and the various challenges surrounding her. From poverty to violence, limited access to sexual and reproductive health services, WASH services and education. Girls face many obstacles to achieving their full potential.

Investment in girls’ futures means reducing poverty, tackling issues around sexual and reproductive health and reducing violence against women. Millions of girls worldwide don’t have access to these services and knowledge. We must help girls access education, economic opportunities, and SRH services, among other things. These steps will empower girls, improve their lives, and improve the world.

Every Girl Child should be heard. If we want to create a better future, we must support girls to achieve their full potential, and that means valuing their voices and helping them reach their goals.”

“On this International Day of the Girl Child, let us commit to creating a world where every girl can reach her full potential.
