Safe Space Discussion Guide: Advancing the Rights of Adolescent Girls and Young Women

Education as a Vaccine with funding from Direct Aid Program (DAP) of the Australian High Commission initiated the Advancing Rights of Adolescent Girls and Young Women’s project to challenge harmful social norms held by community actors to ensure the rights of young women and girls are upheld and free from sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) as well as improve community-level SGBV reporting and response systems.
This manual was developed to assist in strengthening the agency and social capital of adolescent girls and young women, with an emphasis on girls living with disabilities and affected by the AIDS epidemic. The goal was to use safe spaces to reduce their vulnerability, improve their life skills and increase access to SGBV information and services. Download here
