Promoting Affirmative Response to Violence against Women & Girls (PARV)

Over the years, silence has been the norm when relating to issues of abuse and sexual violence. Women and girls feared to open up or even come forth with cases of abuse and violence for fear of being stigmatized by society. This attitude has caused survivors to remain hidden nursing the deep scars on their own.

Female Condom Advocacy Project

The female condom is a contraceptive method capable of protecting both women and men from sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS and unplanned pregnancies. It can also serve as a barrier method which reduces the risk of being exposed to Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) which, when contracted, can lead to cancer of the uterus.

The recent surge in livelihood conflicts has proven to be a deterring factor in positive community development. In some communities, young men are recruited to perpetuate violence thereby suspending any potential individual growth and development, while young girls, and indeed women, are placed in vulnerable situations.
